Delayed Truth Revealed.
Prestigious Boarding School Releases Long Overdue Information Concerning Convicted Child Predator Richard Keller.
The Truth Finally Surfaces
On August 20, 2026, Phillips Andover Academy publicly identified former medical director and convicted felon, Richard Keller as a perpetrator of child sexual abuse, correcting a 2012 statement in which the school said it had “no reason to believe” students were affected by his crimes.

Documented History of Misconduct.
Keller worked at Andover for roughly two decades and had a documented history of misconduct, including pornography use on a school computer and showing students inappropriate material. He was later arrested and convicted in a federal child-pornography case, in which he acknowledged a longstanding obsession with child pornography.
A former Keller survivor, represented by attorneys Kristin Knuuttila and Eric MacLeish, alleges that Andover ignored warning signs and gave Keller unchaperoned access to students. The survivor says the school failed in its duty to protect children and hopes the disclosure helps other survivors recognize that they are not alone.
Court documents tell the shocking story of a life-long addiction.
"My interest in child/young adult pornography began as a curiosity in my early teenage years, became habitual in my late teen years, and then became obsessive in my young adulthood, only to worsen with the advent of computers and the internet. I tried to break free from this addiction many, many times, only to return to it again with renewed fervor."

According to US Atty Ortiz, Keller amassed a “staggering amount” of child pornography (much of which was delivered to his campus office and/or home). From one company alone, Keller (pictured at left) purchased child pornography more than 19 times from 2009 to 2011. “His collection included more than 500 printed images of boys at or approaching pubescence, as well as 60 to 100 DVDs with similar content.” More to the point, “Keller’s collection… included graphic depictions of boys aged 7 to 16 engaged in sexual acts, including oral and anal sex as well as the sado-masochistic abuse of a boy.”
